In 2008, through the support of
our generous partners and
donors the Veterans Program
raised more than $18 million and made over $7 million grants.
The Preamble of the Constitution states; "We the People, in order to form a more perfect union…..provide for the common defense….". Hundreds of thousands of young men and women volunteer to make the sacrifices required to provide that common defense. When those brave individuals successfully complete their service, ‘We the People’ owe it to them to assist them in overcoming the unique challenges that await them as they return to civilian life. The McCormick Veterans Program seeks to empower public and private sector organizations, as well as citizens in the fulfillment of that social contract contained in our Constitution’s Preamble.
Since 2008, through the support of our generous partners and donors, the McCormick Veterans Program (MVP) has raised more than $13 million and granted over $7 million to non-profit organizations providing critical support to Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF)/ Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) veterans across the country. Based on key learnings from these grantee organizations, MVP is developing a cohesive strategy to assist veterans with the transition back into civilian life and their home communities. For this reason, there presently are no opportunities for funding through the program. We do anticipate this will change in the near future. As the appropriate strategy is developed, grantmaking guidelines for the program will follow. Please check back for details in 2011.
