An active and knowledgeable citizenry is the backbone of American democracy.
Recognizing this, the McCormick Foundation’s Civics Program seeks to help our region’s young people
become informed and engaged citizens by investing in programs that promote civic engagement,
service and civic leadership.
The McCormick Foundation welcomes requests for funding from nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations for initiatives
that support the mission of the Civics Program.
Before submitting a proposal, an organization should send a letter of inquiry that describes,
in no more than two pages, the nature, purpose and cost of the proposed program.
This letter should also outline the need for the program and the qualifications of the organization.
The Civics Program accepts requests under $50,000 on a rolling basis.
For requests over $50,000, grant seekers should submit letters of inquiry no later than December 1
in order to be considered at the February board of directors meeting.
