Our Civics program granted nearly $2.9 million to programs promoting youth civic engagement and volunteerism in the Chicago-area.

The Civics Program aims to make Chicagoland a model of civic health by providing youth with the foundation of knowledge, skills and opportunities essential to lifelong civic engagement. This approach is founded on the belief that knowledge and action are the pillars of long term civic engagement.

The Civics Program’s mission is to improve access to quality civic education and engagement opportunities in Chicagoland for youth ages 12 through 22. By providing these resources, we aim to develop a new generation of informed and actively engaged citizens prepared to participate in the democratic process and remain civically engaged throughout their lives.

In addition to funding organizations that improve civic education and engagement, the Civics Program provides resources and programs for youth and professional development for educators.
